Louisiana Double

Among the casino games, poker is one of the newer games. It is believed to have evolved from the Persian game of As Nas. In 18th century England a similar game was known as Brag or Commerce in France. In Germany it was called rapping, which means "to challenge or deceive (by rapping)". This then became Poque in French, which the Americans finally called Poker.

The game, which was originally played in North America by the "hard" men of the Wild West for sometimes extremely high stakes, exists in many variants and variations that have contributed to its popularity. Aces and Faces Video Poker is one of these many variations.

Rules and winnings

The game you are playing is governed by the basic rules of Louisiana Doubles Poker. There is a similar table above the cards on the game screen. The winnings for the highest hand depend on the number of coins bet. The total amount of winnings depends on the amount of coins wagered and the value of each coin.

The Poker Hands

Below are the standard combinations of poker hands used to calculate the player's winnings in each game.

  • Royal Flush

This is the highest hand in poker, consisting of the following cards: A K D B 10 of the same suit.

  • Straight Flush

This is a combination of 5 consecutive cards of the same suit. Example: 7 8 9 10 B Diamonds.

  • Four of a Kind

This is a combination of 4 equal cards. Example: 4 tens or 4 jacks.

  • Full House

This is a combination of three equal cards and two more equal cards. Example: K K K 9 9 or A A D D D etc.

  • Flush

Five cards of the same suit. Example: 5 B 7 D K Heart.

  • Straight

Five consecutive cards of any suit. Example: 6 7 8 9 10 or 8 9 10 B D.

  • Three of a kind

Three equal and two disjointed cards. Example: K K K 3 6 or 5 5 5 K 9.

  • Two pairs

Two different pairs and any fifth card. Example: B B 4 4 6 or A A D D K.

  • Jacks or higher

A pair of jacks, queens, kings or aces and no other similar cards. Example: B B 1 2 9 or A A D B 3

The doubling card

Louisiana Doubles is played with a hand that contains a special card - the doubling card. If a player has this card and a winning hand, he wins twice as much.

Size of Bets

You can choose from 4 different coin sizes:

  • 0,5 Credits
  • 1 Credit note
  • 2 Credit notes
  • 5 Credit notes

The size is selected from the main menu bar. You can choose between 1 to 5 coins on the hand you will be playing. The selection is made by clicking on the corresponding column of the paytable on the screen. The marker moves over the bet columns to highlight the number of coins placed on each hand.

Game History

After setting your amount, press the Output key. 5 cards are dealt on the screen. To hold a card, click on the surface of the card and a corresponding mark will appear above the card. Clicking on the card again deactivates the holding of the card.

As soon as you are satisfied with the hand in your hand, press the Drag button. All unaccepted cards will be deleted from the screen and new cards will be dealt instead.

The outcome of the game is decided by these last cards, which are then used to pay for your balance.

Doubling

You have the option of selecting the 'Duplicate' option from the options menu. This doubling option gives you the chance to further increase your winnings! After completing a winning hand, you have the option to double the winnings payable to you or collect your winnings. Below the cards, the 'Double' and 'Collect Winnings' buttons appear. To cash your winnings, press the 'Collect Winnings' button. This will end the game and give you the opportunity to start a new one. If you wish to double your winnings, press the 'Double' button.

If you press the 'Double' button, the cards will return to the slots and another 5 cards will be dealt. The first card (far left) is the dealer's card and is dealt face-up. The remaining 4 cards are uncovered. You select one of the face up cards by clicking on it. Now all 4 cards are revealed. The card you have chosen has a golden mark on the left above it. If you have chosen a card that is less high, you lose and no winnings are paid to you. If the card you have chosen is the same, this tie gives you the chance to collect your original winnings or try again. If your card is higher than the dealer's, you will receive double your original winnings. You will then be given the opportunity to double your winnings further or redeem your winnings.

Each time you double, you have the chance to double the current value of your winnings, but with the risk of forfeiting the entire winnings if you lose. The Double option is not available if your current winnings exceed 2000 credits.

Card Speed

The speed at which the cards are dealt is automatically preset by the computer. To set the card speed, click the 'Options' menu and then the 'Card Speed' option that appears. A dialog box will appear with speed and scroll options.

To manually set the map speed, click the 'Manual map speed setting' radio button. This will change the down arrow of the Map Speed menu from gray to black. If you click on the arrow, you will see 4 options from slow to very fast. Once you have made your choice, click the 'OK' button to activate the option.

If the 'Start Run Immediately' checkbox is checked, the cards will exit the opening as soon as the player presses the 'Start' or 'Drag' button. If this option has not been set, the casino server will first perform a check before the card cycle is triggered. Selecting this option will speed up your game.

By default, the card speed is set automatically. This means that the card flow through the screen is optimally adapted to your network speed. The faster your connection, the faster the card will run. As the network speed changes, so does the speed at which the cards pass through the network. This is to ensure a continuous game process if possible. You can try these different card speed options to find the one that suits you best.
